VSBfonds Launches Scholarship Network

We had the opportunity to contribute by launching the scholarship network for them with three launch events. Previously, there had been no follow-up contact with these students after receiving a scholarship; however, extensive research indicated a significant need for this. Our task was to create an inspiring and substantive program together with the partners of VSBfonds.
VSB Fonds, Everyone is Involved

VSBfonds believes in passionate and motivated students who wish to further their development. That is why VSBfonds makes a significant number of scholarships available each year for students to study or conduct research abroad. We consider motivation and involvement in the community to be more important than grade lists.

VSBfonds supports socially engaged students in their ambition to gain knowledge and experience abroad. They bring this knowledge and experience back to the Netherlands, enriching our society. VSBfonds selects students who demonstrate a broad commitment to their communities. We do this with the expectation that this engagement will continue to play a role in their future lives, and that they may become initiators and leaders of meaningful social and cultural projects and organizations.

We cannot express it more beautifully than this text from the VSBfonds website: to provide socially engaged and passionate students with even more tools to succeed in life.

In the spring, we launched the network with events in Amsterdam at NEMO, in Rotterdam at the HipHopHuis, and at the Dutch Open Air Museum in Arnhem. Each of these event locations is close to VSBfonds’s heart and truly added value to the events.

The main focus of the events was networking—both among the attendees and with the partners. Partners of VSBfonds, such as KNHM, Breekjaar, and UAF, introduced themselves. Various partners encouraged the attending scholars to get involved as volunteers. Additionally, discussions were held to gather expectations and wishes from the scholars regarding the future development of the network. In the coming period, the network will be further developed through (regional) meetings, networking events, pitch competitions, and more
