The last edition was special, as for the first time, scholarships were awarded to MBO students in the presence of Minister Dijkgraaf.
From the press release:
In addition to 150 HBO and university students, for the first time today, fifty MBO students received a VSBfonds Scholarship to study, take courses, or participate in volunteer work abroad that contributes to their personal development. At the Groote Museum in Artis, Minister Dijkgraaf spoke with these students about what receiving this scholarship means to them.
Minister Dijkgraaf stated, “I believe that all students in the Netherlands deserve education that allows them to develop to their fullest potential. This includes equal opportunities to participate in exchanges or internships abroad. Whether you are pursuing an MBO, HBO, or university education should not make a difference. VSBfonds is setting a good example, and I urge other funders to follow suit.”
